The media aren't quite sure what to call them. Following a very peaceful march, the patriot-protester people, um ... threatened to kill anyone who removes them. A little situation brewing in Oregon. This might not be the case for other groups trying the same thing. War on America. Dangerous treasonous radical violent police-threatening terror thugs! So what if they're war victims who might die giving birth? Terrorist-rapist fetuses are people! We want to send a message: If your violent militia kidnaps and rapes hundreds of girls, U.S. Republicans will have your back! Because we are pro-life!

Caption: To Protect and to Sever. Baltimore police officers explain the death of an unarmed man whose spine was severed and voice box crushed during an arrest. This isn't what it looks like. While running from police, the individual in question began choking on a pretzel. The officer squeezed his throat and dislodged the snack, saving his life and the pretzel. A freak wind gust then violently blew the individual into a dumpster. Injury. Officers braved the intense but fleeting gale to drag him to safety, a moment taken completely out of context by that amateur video. Ok, any questions?

Caption: A Cycle of Sadness. Crazy extremists threaten death for blasphemous cartoons against religion X. How dare you insult the prophet? Cartoonists exercise their free speech rights to draw blasphemous cartoons. Terrorists attack, killing cartoonists and several others. Even though mainstream religion X-ers find the cartoons offensive, they condemn the massacre. The terrorists are not us. These killings are against our beliefs! People conflate the two groups anyway. Houses of worship are attacked. Blam! Blam! Some cartoonists and other commentators take things to new extremes. Take that, religion X-ers! Extremist politicians thrive, further alienating minorities. More violent extremists emerge.

Caption: Buffer Buffoonery. The Supreme Court recently struck down a "buffer zone" law for abortion clinics while having its own protester-free zone that is many times larger. Massachusetts law: 35 ft. around clinics. Supreme Court buffer. Shouldn't the justices be as exposed to the "free marketplace of ideas" as a woman seeking an abortion? Repent. Your honor, please come to our Legal Crisis Center for some free counseling! They'd just have to take their chances and hope none of the activists are violent. Constitution killer! We the People. Things would change real fast. it being self-evident that no one should have to put up with this s#*t ... we're reversing our ruling on buffer zones.

Caption: Shooting Backwards. Pro-gun groups are celebrating the fact that one year after Newtown, guns are less regulated that before. 70 eased restrictions. 39 tightened. Ain't she a beaut? It's like we responded to a drunk driving epidemic by putting kegs at every intersection. The right to bear brews shall not be infringed! Braaap! Glug-N-Go. "Rollover Red". At this rate, we're just a tragedy away from no regulation at all. I want a shoulder-fired RPG launcher for Christmas. Wish list. Those won't be legal until after the next massacre, dear. Makes you wonder who's actually in charge here - gun owner or gun? Dace, you will donate your children's college fund to the NRA. Okay. You will awaken with no memory of this conversation, Dave.

Caption: A Well-Funded Militia. Another legislative massacre! The Herald-Spitoon. Senate killed gun safety measure. Bill dies despite overwhelming public support. Many irate citizens begin demanding background checks for those trying to purchase a congressman. It's time we stopped elected officials from falling into the wrong hands! The background checks would close the "Fundraising Show" loophole, in which dangerous politicians are openly sold. I'll take an assault senator! Lobbyists vow a nasty fight. Once you start tracking who owns what government stooge, it's a slippery slope to having our government stooges taken away!

Caption: Around the country, people are demonstrating the right to bear arms by entering public spaces with assault weapons. True: A man caused mass panic parading a semi-automatic rifle through a Charlottesville, VA supermarket. Bananas. How can you tell if that guy toting an AR-15 in the grocery store is a GUN NUT or MASS SHOOTER? 1. Are you still alive? If so, he might not be a homicidal maniac. 2. Which box is checked on his t-shirt? Good. Evil. You're probably okay! 3. Has he brought a well-regulated militia? Actually, this could go either way. 4. Still not sure? HIDE. But feel proud that you're not infringing on anybody's RIGHTS!

Caption: Bright Ideas from Wayne LaPierre. I'm from the NRA and I'm here to help! Call me crazy, but I've got another idea that just might work! "First, let's find all the lonely, disturbed teens out there and arm them." Hey kid, aren't you sick of all the wedgies, swirlies and insults? Have a Bushmaster! "Won't be long until mass carnage is the NORM." And today there were shootings at McKinley High, Central Middle School and Watkins Prep. News 7. Up next: weather! "The bad guys won't be so special anymore." I just shot 20 people, and I can't get my manifesto published ANYWHERE! Whatever. Pass the nuts. "Until one day, NOT blowing away a crowd makes headlines." Herald-Press Tribune. MAN HOLDS FIRE. "He always seemed like such a violent boy." -Neighbor. "And the shooting spree fad will end." I'd kill my classmates, but that would be SO 2013. Caption: Slowpoke. Violent spin. A Palin aide claims that a map targeting democrats - including the recently-shot Gabrielle Giffords - doesn't who rifle sigh crosshairs, but surveyor sembols. Betha didn’t know I've got a thing for cartomagraphy! Clearly we are mistaken to erad violence into right-wing rhetoric! When senate candidate Sharron Angle (R - NV) called for "second amendment remedies" ... I mean we should all buy guns to help support the economy! It'll help small businesses and steelworkers! When REp. Michele Bachmann (R - MN) called for voters to be "armed and dangerous" over carbon credits ... I simply wanted them to have arms so they could call their elected officials in Washington! Together, we can put the global warming hoax in danger! When Giffords' tea party opponent ran an ad saying "Get on target for victory in November - Help remove Gabrielle Giffords from office - shoot a fully automatic M-16 with Jesse Kelly" ... I just wanted to improve peoples. hand-eye coordination at the voting booth! Some of these ballots are so confusing, you need to be an expert marksman!

Caption: Slowpoke. Fun with False Equivalence. Some readers complained that last week's cartoon focused only on violent right-wing rhetoric. In the spirit of fairness, we bring you examples of prominent progressives using such language.* Keith Olbermann. Welcome to tonight's countdown ... to armed revolution! Who will be in our crosshairs tonight? Stay tuned! Bernie Sanders, in a little-noticed line from his recent filibuster ... And if congress keeps the Bush tax cuts for the rich, I'm cleaning my guns and getting ready for the big show! Now, let's take a look at this pie chart ... Paul Krugman. It's time to water the tree of liberty with the blood of supply-side economists! Although it does seem like a waste of good ammunition! Rachel Maddow's machine gun social for gay marriage. Caption: Slowpoke. Protest Pointers with Rep. Eric Cantor. I for one am increasingly concerned about the growing mobs occupying Wall Street and other cities. Some in this town have actually condoned the pitting of Americans against Americans. (Actual quotes). You occupiers could learn a thing or two from the Tea Party, which never pits Americans against each other! Gays are great. One love. Liberals are ok. Non-violent resistance is the way. No threat of armed rebellion here! Yay naturalized immigrants. But to exercise your free speech rights properly, I suggest you lose your silly signs altogether and incorporate. Wall Street Occupation Services, Ltd. "Home of the jumbo protest package(tm)." Then secretly funnel millions of dollars to a superpac, and have them attack your opponents through tv ads. Now THAT'S democracy! You do have millions of dollars ... don't you?
