Caption: Do you remember your early childhood, Randy? Of course, little buddy. I come from a long line of Randies who have photographic memories. It's an evolutionary trait that enabled early Randies to survive despite being connoisseurs of the female form. "Evolution"? Doesn't that mean some of them didn't make it? Overly long stares lead to nothing but trouble.

Caption: Today on the Ask Sadie Show, we'll be addressing one single topic: "Medicare for All." Specifically, we'll talk about how paying just a little more in taxes to fund it would save money, since no one would have to pay premiums or copays, no matter what their age. That's why we must defeat it! What about the rest of us, who had to struggle with sky-high insurance costs, horrible coverage, and enormous bills that forced us into bankruptcy, for 65 whole years, before qualifying for Medicare?! We paid our dues!!! Plus, when you make it over that 65-year finish line, it's like surviving The Hunger Games. A very proud moment.

Caption: I've traveled back through time to warn: The aliens are here. Open Mike Night Presents Future Guy. They hitched rides in on Halley's Comet every time it's near. Living nanites masquerading as technology … depending on the gullibility of you and me. 200,000 years of riding horses and buggies ... and suddenly we're 3-D printing tools and cars and trees? They're everywhere, just biding time to finish their big plan. They're in your phones, your watch, your cars, and they are nearly done. The brain ... the AI ... will arrive ... in 2061. (July 28th to be exact ... that, my crew is a natural fact). I'm warning you this way 'cause it's the only way, you see. For some reason, they get confused by rhymes and poetry. In short, I've come to warn you, evolution's happening. You want your kids to survive it? Teach them how to rap ... pening. That was close. Odd ... my phone lit up for no reason, and then went back to sleep.

Caption: I heard the world has entered the sixth great extinction. So what?! Well, I was just thinking maybe you should go on tv and share your wisdom. Tell us all how you survived the last great extinction. You've got nothing to worry about. 65 million years ago, an asteroid wiped out almost all the majestic life on earth ... but the apocalypse didn't bother with the tiny wimpy protomonkeys. So you'll be fine. Tell us how the mean-o-sauruses survived.

Caption: I just edited your Wikipedia entry. I still neither know nor care what that means. Tap tap tap tap tap. It means you're no longer known as "the last surviving Neanderthal on earth." Scientists now think Neanderthals were kinder and smarter than homo sapiens. Which made them highly desirable as mates, so homo sapiens basically interbred with them until they were gone. You're now classified as a fossilized armadillopithecine, which was so undesirable that nobody wanted to interbreed with it. And yet I've still had more dates than you.

Caption: My favorite tea: Hot daffodil-infused chamomile with a hint of whiskey. Are you serious? Of course I'm serious! I've been dosing myself with small quantities of poisonous daffodil ever since 1931. You have to build up an immunity if you want to survive in the cutthroat world of Scrabble tournaments.

Caption: You're on "Ask Sadie" What's your problem? I want to go back to work. But my son is still so young. I'd have to send him to preschool or day care. And then most of my salary would go to pay for that. So what should I do? You should do what we did in my day: Have six more kids and then let them all fend for themselves! If your eldest isn't a strong leader, it may get a little "Lord of the Flies"-ish, but that builds character! ... in the survivors.

Caption: Boss, I'm one of the finalists for Mars One! I'll be going to Mars on a one-way trip. Excellent. On Mars, you'll have only the air and food you bring with you. That won't last long. To survive long-term you'll have to plant vast gardens to feed you and replenish your oxygen. You'll be toiling and slaving for no money at all. I should never tell you anything. I'll stop paying you, to help you get used to that.

Caption: Randy, what's the best way to ask for a raise? Have a battle plan. First do recon: how're the company's finances? Second: arm yourself with examples of how you went above and beyond. Then you march in. Then you hope the public hasn't lost interest and congress hasn't cut funding for your medical care when you get home. Well that went off on a tangent. "No battle plan ever survives contact with the enemy."
