Whoa, dad! Sporting a new look, are we? I've been asked to read the Declaration of Independence at the opening of Wednesday's parade. This is an amazing document. Do you know what it states, Edison? Of course. "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are staying up as late as I want, eating hot dogs and ice cream until I'm sick, and shooting off fireworks despite protests from the cranky neighbors." Those "rights" are suppose to be life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." All the things I mentioned make me feel alive, free and happy. So apparently the Declaration if Independence was written for adults only. |
