Right-Wing pundits went nuts online. @DanRiehl. If you ever had any doubts, Obama is the first Racist in Chief. If only Twitter had existed in the past ... I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin bit the content of their character. @FossilBlowhard. Caption: The fate of the economy now hinges on the unhinged. If our demands aren't met, we're takin' this whole f#@!*&n' popsicle stand down! Of course, they're just obeying the founding fathers. Patrick Henry's famous "chicken speech". I do believe that a game of chicken is the wisest manner in which to settle a major policy dispute. Lincoln routinely spoke wrapped in explosives. And if you heed not my words, we shall all verily go up in flames. Some may recall the famous "Schoolhouse Rock" animation about this. I'm just a bill ... A Republican bill ... And if I don't pass, say goodbye to your ass ...

Caption: RNC Lowlights. Bold new policy positions. I want to talk to you about love! Dog whistles galore! To do the really big stuff, you need an American! Unlike, say, a black guy from Kenya. Strategic sadism. Step 1: Ruthless obstruction of anything that might help the unemployed. Making Obama a one-term prez is our top priority! Step 2: See! Obama couldn't help you! Legacy-destroying chairs. What's that? You say I just screwed the pooch?

Caption: A court has ruled that graphic warning labels on cigarettes violate corporate free speech. Tobacco smoke can harm your children. Llama. Because a deadly product marketed by multinationals is just like a citizen petitioning the government. Yes, we must protect cigarettes' freedom of expression, lest we wind up like Russia. All-tobacco punk band "nicotine riot" jailed for protest. The struggle for cigarette liberties dates back to the founding butts! Minuteman Lights. Give me the ability to kill people or give me death! Australia and Britain may allow the graphic warnings, but as a judge Janice Rogers Brown

Caption: Slowpoke. The Free Speech Dimension. Going a step further in their crackdown on Occupy Wall Street protesters, Oakland police impose a new rule. From now on, protesters must limit their activities to the fourth dimension or higher. "Our new "Occu-Portal (tm) sends them to a place where they no longer impede traffic, pedestrians, or anyone's field of vision." Step into the portal or you're under arrest! I am the 99%. Activists disappear, only occasionally intersecting with the third dimension. Free the wage slaves. ? Meanwhile, in Washington ... Caption: Slowpoke. Protest Pointers with Rep. Eric Cantor. I for one am increasingly concerned about the growing mobs occupying Wall Street and other cities. Some in this town have actually condoned the pitting of Americans against Americans. (Actual quotes). You occupiers could learn a thing or two from the Tea Party, which never pits Americans against each other! Gays are great. One love. Liberals are ok. Non-violent resistance is the way. No threat of armed rebellion here! Yay naturalized immigrants. But to exercise your free speech rights properly, I suggest you lose your silly signs altogether and incorporate. Wall Street Occupation Services, Ltd. "Home of the jumbo protest package(tm)." Then secretly funnel millions of dollars to a superpac, and have them attack your opponents through tv ads. Now THAT'S democracy! You do have millions of dollars ... don't you?

Caption: Slowpoke. The supreme court may soon strike down election laws that give public financing to poorer candidates - on the grounds that it infringes on the free speech of rich candidates. The government is penalizing the privately-financed candidate for engaging in unfettered political expression! Makes sense to me! That's right: Giving more speech to the poor means you're taking speech from the rich. Coming soon: Free speech debates! People begin holding up signs showing their annual income before speaking. Looks like I'll be doing the talking here! 21,000. 475,000. And so ... Notice: The last panel of this cartoon will not be shown, so as not to infringe on the First Amendment rights of Heritage Foundation cartoonist Albertus "Champ" Waddsworth IV.

With me is Jim E. Hatt, who will accept the honors on behalf of all prophylactics! Hi, kids! Thanks! Speakers would share inspirational stories ... I'm about to graduate from college std-and-baby-free, and I owe everything to Mr. Hatt and his rubbery ilk! Aw, shucks! An award would be given ... Without you, my night with that hot piece of Italian beefcake would not have been possible. Please accept this golden booty for all your hard work. Just doing my job. ... Followed by a keynote address. As one of our great forecondoms once said, ask not what protection your partner can offer you ... But what you can offer your partner! Thanks!

Caption: Slowpoke. Free Speech Koans. The Supreme Court has ruled that corporate spending to sway elections is protected "speech." This raises deep philosophical questions! If a citizen speaks, bit has no money to buy a TV ad, do they make a sound? Senator Bilge: Squirrel Sodomizer. If money is speech, can we pay out bills with opinions. I can't pay my rent this month, but I CAN give you a half-hour lecture on the folly of subsidized corn. If the pen is mightier than the sword, is not a multi-million dollar media campaign mightier than the pen? Look, my letter to the editor supporting Senator Bilge was published! Squirrellgate: Bilge Sinks In Polls. HAW HAW! He porked a squirrel!

What passion! 2009: Heritage Foundation ninjas begin slipping Quaaludes into Obama's Cheerios. He's eating them! Munch munch. And so ... We must believe ... In the audacity ... Of sleep. What happened? But one day, Obama switches to Malia's Froot Loops. It's time for change. And suddenly ... Clarity! Wait a minute! What have I been up to? It's time to fire up this nation with some killer oratory! Until the next morning. That does it. He gets the angel dust. This should be interesting! Froot Loops.

Blad Thorbaald. … Iraq Analyst: "Not Enough Gore" … The Obama White House decides to start limiting their access. We can no longer abide by the fiction that the Viking network is a traditional news organization. Please stop flinging blood at me. The White House. Washington, DC. Caption: Slowpoke. Midway through his speech, McCain becomes mysteriously possessed with the spirit of an ACTUAL maverick! My friends, if you want real change in Washington - URK! Oh, who the hell am I kidding? My campaign is run my lobbyists and the same slimebags who ran Bush's! Palin's speech was written by a former BUSH SPEECHWRITER, for cripes' sake! Of course I picked her as a ploy to win over Hillary supporters. And yes, that was a big, honking insult to their intelligence! Does anyone really think a woman who denies humans cause global warming, supports abstinence-only "education" and book banning, is literally in bed with BP, and demands absolute political loyalty ... Is any DIFFERENT from the clowns currently in charge?! HA! In short, my party blows. I regret the 90% of the time that I voted with Bush. And - URK! As I was saying, Washington is broken and we're gonna fix it. And just as mysteriously, the possession ended.

Caption: Slowpoke. Slowpoke at the DNC Part II. My seat at Mile High Stadium overlooked the makeshift TV studios. Even when I'm at an event in person, I can't get away from Wolf Blitzer. CNN. A speaker form Indiana named Barney Smith got the biggest laugh of the evening when he said: We need a President who puts Barney Smith before Smith Barney! Although, considering the amount of Wall Street money flowing into Obama's campaign in addition to small donors, I wonder how this would play out in reality. During Obama's speech, the crowd was so quiet (between lines of thunderous applause) that I worried my camera's electronic beeping would ruin the moment for others. How to switch the sound off ... ? Aw, screw it! Bleep! Today it was revealed that McCain has picked Sarah Palin, and anti-choice woman, as his running mate. It's a classic Clarence Thomas-style maneuver by the GOP, which makes me think of Al Gore's line from last night. Some of the best marketers have the worst products.

Caption: Slowpoke. Democrats are at each other's throats over the Presidential candidates. War-mongering triangulator! Overhyped health care demagogue! Obama. Hillary. As the race drags on, the DNC decides to unite the party with a medical miracle. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you ... Oballary! Now THAT'S change! Oballary's ability to simultaneously eat waffles WHILE giving stump speeches in small town diners allows it to cover twice as many campaign stops as usual. GMORF! Lemme tell you about hope. The Oballary campaign quickly wins over the prized Siamese twin and sci-fi nerd vote. Finally! Somebody who represents us! McCain is a Cylon! Republican strategists are stymied. It'd be the first female and black President! But it's also white and male! With decades of combined experience! What'll we do? Not to be outdone, McCain exhumes Ronald Reagan's head to win over wary wingnuts! Don't worry ... He's plenty conservative! You tell 'em, Ronnie!

Caption: Slowpoke. Spreadin' the Manure. True: The White House has instructed the Dept. of Agriculture to work praise of Bush's foreign policy into speeches. Actual talking point. Agriculture is the heart and soul of a nation, and its importance should not be underestimated in the Iraqi's efforts to build a strong, self-sustaining democracy. Here are some other possible segueways ... When addressing sheep farmers: We all know there's nothing tastier than a rack of lamb. ... And speaking of Iraq, the President has a clear strategy for victory! Sheep produces of Okiedokie County. When addressing cattle ranchers: The fat veins in a well-marbled slice of beef remind me of rivers ... like the Euphrates and Tigris in Iraq - where, incidentally, the President has a clear strategy for victory! Caution: Try not to get too carried away. When I think of fruits and vegetables, I think of sprouting freedom in the Middle East ... Of land where spuds have replaced scuds ... Of dangling carrots of democracy ... Of the strong moral fiber of our President, who has a clear strategy for victory! Now, back to avocado prices ... Produce growers of Wahoochie County.

Caption: Slowpoke. Earn Your Vote! The Supreme Court recently rejected Vermont's campaign finance law, once again ruling that money is a form of "free speech." The more money you have, the more speech you get. It’s the law! But why stop there? Clearly the next logical step is to assign personhood based on income! Since the average CEO makes 821 times the minimum wage, CEO's shall count as full persons and minimum wage workers as 1/821 person - about the size of a little toe. $4,228/hr. 1 vote. $5.15/hr. 1/821 vote. Slimebold TM has already developed a voting machine prototype that uses the new system. Just enter your social security number ... The machine retrieves your income tax return and assigns you a fraction. It's that simple! SS#. Income: $21,400. Personhood: 1/411. Slimebold. Sure, some might protest. Bit that would be class warfare. Earning your vote: It's the American way!
