Caption: Locker Room. Home Team. The rookie, Ernie, has gotten off to a rough start. Yesterday, in his first game he stuck in the ball in his pocket when told to "take the first pitch," grabbed an opposing player by the pants when told to "hold the runner" and strolled around the stadium because the manager said "a walk is as good as a hit." Today he pitched and despite giving up eight runs without getting anybody out I think he'll be taking credit for a "shutout." Stay out! No media allowed.

Caption: These baseball races are incredible! Lots of teams are still in contention for the playoffs! I love the post-season … All the tradition, excitement and pageantry! The only thing I don't understand is why they always have politicians throw out the first pitch. You're right ... It would be a lot more realistic if they were caught stealing instead!

Caption: Ernie, I just checked out the rough cut of your baseball instructional video, and it looks like there might be some problems. There's a whole segment of you just swatting gnats! I can say that's a demonstration of how to catch flies. You fell three times while trying to run around the bases. I'll just call that "sliding techniques". In the hitting section, you didn't make contact once. That's not a problem --- I'll change that segment to "effective pitching". And what about fielding grounders? Every time you bent over for a ball, it went between your legs! I'm way ahead of you, Frank ... That's going to be the segment on pregame stretching!
