Caption: My mother died at the age of 84, and 2 months later my dad died. I guess he couldn’t bear to go on without her. I hope if I go first you'll follow his example. Because you'd miss me so much? Of course, but I also don’t like the idea of you having fun without me.

Caption: Grampa, that guy on TV is talking so fast I can't understand what he's saying. Can you? Sure, I can. I'm a fast listener. How did you learn to do that? Being married to your gram. I listen to her so fast that I usually finish listening to her before she's even finished talking.

Caption: Do you think that cat really cares anything about you? Of course. She loves me! Oh, yeah? I heard of a lady who owned a cat for years, she thought the cat truly cared about her. Then a lady down the street started leaving gourmet cat food on her porch. The cat found it, and decided it was better than what she'd been getting, so guess what ... The cat stayed there! Muffin would never do that to me! Would you, Muffy? I'm doing it now. I actually belong to the lady down the street.

Caption: Sometimes I have this irrational feeling that Muffin doesn’t really care about me. You know, that she only values me for what I can provide for her. Crazy, huh? Not at all. I know what you mean. Sometimes I have a feeling that the postman only delivers mail to me because he hast to, not because he cares about me.

Caption: Generally, it's good to use your brain. But sometimes you can think about something too much. Especially women. They WAY over-think everything. They analyze things to death. It takes gramma 30 minutes just to decide what to wear in the morning. Guess how long it takes me. Ten minutes.? Nope. It was a trick question. Gramma picks out my clothes too. It takes her another fifteen minutes.

Caption: You sure knit good, gramma. Thank you. I'll bet you could knit anything you wanted. Oh, I don’t know about that. Don’t listen to her, Nelson. She's just being a bit modest. In fact, if you gave her a ball of steel wool she could probably knit you a bicycle. Cool!

Caption: Here, Earl. Try this on. What is it. It's a Christmas present I knitted for my sister. Stand up. You're about her size. I want to see if it's going to fit. It's something new, part sweater and part poncho. I call it a swancho. Just because you can knit something, doesn't mean you should.

Caption: You're new to Facebook, aren't you, mom? I think it's fun trying new things. I noticed that you replied to your sister's post about her cat being put to sleep. Yes, poor Pearl. I wanted to let her know how sorry I am for her loss. That's nice, but I thought putting "lol" at the end was a bit harsh. Harsh? You do know that "lol" stands for "laughing out loud," don't you? Not "lots of love"?

Caption: Have you heard from Sylvia lately, Earl? No. I guess she's been pretty busy with work and things. I try calling her but she never answers her phone. She says I should send her text messages instead. She says she always answers her text messages. What is it with young people and their text messages? I think they like them because that way they can communicate with us without actually having to see or hear us.

Caption: Opal's curling iron has singed her hair … Look at my hair! What am I going to do?? I still say the best thing to do is shave it all off and start fresh. I'm not going to shave my head! That would be ridiculous, Earl! I'm going to wear a big, giant flower over it until it grows back.

Caption: Nelson, why are you wearing that face mask? He heard about someone dying of old age, and now he's afraid he might catch old age from us. Well, that's just plain ridiculous, Nelson. That's what I told him. Don’t listen to gramma, son. I caught old age from her! I'm really only 23 years old.
