"The only necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Edmund Burke. "To do good is like ascending a mountain; to do evil as easy as following an avalanche." Chinese proverb. "Wisdom we know is the knowledge of good and evil not the strength to choose between the two." John Cheever. "To prefer evil to good is not in human nature..." Plato. Frank, look at all these thoughts about the struggle between good and evil. It's not that good doesn't triumph over evil, it's that the point spread is too small. |

Frank & Ernest Sign Painters. Let's check today's batch of signs, Ernie. The highway dept. bridge sign looks good. Please Do Not Feed the Sharks. They said this works a lot better than "No Diving from Bridge." This sign for Al's Diner is right. Mentioned in Gourmet Magazine. I looked up that "mention." It said to avoid it all costs. And the bank's sign looks right, too. We are an F.D.I.C. Bank. It must stand for "fast disappearance of invested cash." Uh-oh, we might have a problem here, Ernie. You better check the work order for the artist's paint store. Please Take an Umber. |

Wonderland Transportation Dept. We need to figure out how everybody's going to get around here in Wonderland. I've got the seven dwarves for an eight-passenger mini-van. So Snow White can drive, I guess. Goldilocks can't get license -- She said a bicycle would be "just right." Hansel and Gretel will take anything as long as it has good GPS system and the Tortoise and Hare want race cars. And that leaves the tooth fairy. Chop chop chop chop chop. Think about it - Of course the tooth fairy should fly around in a "chopper"! |

Another great meal, but every year it seems there's more of these guys. Right. I'll take it up with tribal elders. Maybe we can come up with some kind of guest worker program. Good idea -- They must plan to stay awhile -- All they talk about is real estate. Yeah -- I heard they just bought Manhattan Island, and paid 24 dollars for it! Twenty-four dollars?! Whoooeee! Can you say "real estate bubble"? |
