Caption: Dear readers, Due to the high cost of paying Mr. Hambrock to produce this comic strip, we have created the following using our new fully automated robotic comic production system. We believe you'll find it to be of the same high quality you've come to expect. Enjoy! Sincerely, The powers that be. Hey, Dad, would you like to hear a joke? Yes, Edison Lee, I would like to hear a joke. What snacks do computers like best? Gee, I do not know what snacks computers like best. Microchips. Ha, ha! That was very funny. I have another fun ... joke I would ... to tell you. Hold it!! Robots will never take over the comics page. Do you hear me?! Folks, please pardon us while we remove an annoying little bug in the system.

Caption: It was midnight, Private Detective Francis Flintlock sat with his feet up on his desk - a highball in one hand and a 38 special in the other. Tap tap tap. Footsteps echoed faintly in the hallway, followed by a knock at the door. Knock knock. Tap tap tap tap. Frankie, open up! It's me, Delores! It was Delores Higgins, a tall, redheaded cabaret singer from Club Commodé over on Fifth. Where's my money, you creep?! She had come to inquire about a little money Francis owed her. Whack! Wait ... Scratch that. Slam. Undo undo undo undo. She had come to reignite the burning passion that once existed between them. Smooooch. Oh, Frankie! Tap tap tap. Or ... maybe you just have her deliver a case of Pop-tarts and a sixty-inch tv.

Caption: I can't believe it! Me, a big-time news anchor. You're live in one minute. Edison TV. Papers! I need some papers to shuffle during the opening music. And a pen! I'm so nervous. What if I mispronounce the name of an important world leader? What if I misquote a Pentagon official? I could start a war! Relax. Follow the teleprompter and you'll do fine. Now put on the mask. Totally Awesome Entertainment News. Did Tom Brokaw ever wear a wet bear head? All the time. It was his favorite. Live in five, four ... Sigh. Guess who hacked into our cable again. The soggy bear singing "Purple Rain" in front of the weather map is kind of cute.
