Caption: Give and Let Die. What are you up to? Crowdfunding healthcare. But I can't decide which projects to back. Survivalstarter. Why you should help me live. $14,580 of $150,000 goal. 124 backers. This one has a compelling storyline and a strong disease brand. Malignant Cowpox is hot right now. But this other one has an amusing video on the absurdity of life and randomness of tragedy. I might throw a few bucks her way. Now, this person has a boring illness and only three backers. I'm not getting on that loser train. Wouldn't it just be simpler if we had Universal Health Care? Look, this one is offering tote bags!

Caption: School of Glock. Howdy! It seems people are blaming a mass shooting on the poor AR-15 again! Rather than ban these beautiful, rapid-fire freedom sticks, we have a more practical idea. NRA. Guns in school are good. Even better: Schools in guns! Introducing ... The Safe School of the Future. Heston Elementary. Home of the Hot Shots. Under the protective gaze of a warhead-sized bullet, these students enjoy peace through superior firepower. Now that's a high-caliber education! It's so brilliant, we're designing whole cities this way! Uzi Tower, anyone? Can I have my campaign donation now? City of Tomorrow.

Caption: The University of Chicago Guide to Free Speech. Some clarifications to our recent letter mandating "freedom of expression" on campus. Are you from a dominant social group saying "politically incorrect" things? That is speech. We'll protect it! Are you from a minority group protesting something said by the previous group? That was racist. ! Proceed with caution, you coddled millennial. Are you an invited speaker to whom we are paying a hefty fee, and also a war criminal/online harasser/extreme bigot/anti-science kook? We've got your back! Want to peacefully protest your university granting legitimacy to this person? Disinvite the bigot. Sorry, voicing that opinion is not speech. We are VERY, VERY concerned about "trigger warnings." (Shout out to right-wing donors!) Yeah! But, no need to mention the problem of campus sexual assault. Are you an LGBT student looking for a place where you don't have to worry about being harassed? Sorry, no "safe spaces," you wimps! Wait, we have those already? Oops.

Caption: Hell's Shells. AS if inequality hasn't gotten extreme enough, the global elite are avoiding taxes through shell companies. What? "Can't Find the Booty LLC" is a completely legit business! Leaked documents show cheaters have been laundering money through Panamanian firm that sounds like a designer footwear label. Are those Mossack Fonsecas? The practice has its defenders. What else are you going to do with money from trafficking underage prostitutes? Step right up! No questions asked! Shells-R-Us. Fortunately, our elected representatives are on the case. Fundraiser. This is an outrage! Those shell companies belong in America!

Caption: Arizona is the first state to put a 12-month lifetime limit on welfare benefits. On year. That's all you get! Does this mean you'll raise the minimum wage so I can actually afford to live? No. An you promise me I won't be laid off again? No. Will you build more low-income housing so I can pay the rent? No. Will you stop shipping jobs overseas? No. How about a New Deal-style public works program? No. I'm not sure what sort of lesson this is supposed to teach me. Self-reliance! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go beg for campaign donations.

Caption: U.S. Democracy Recalled. Just 158 families have given half the funding for the presidential candidates. This means the emissions of the 1% are dangerously high. Today we are recalling the American Electoral Process as it contains a defeat device. With this thing in place, the country isn't going anywhere. Engine of Democracy. $. The scandal goes all the way to the top. With Citizens United, the justices knowingly approved a corrupt design! And they thought we wouldn't notice! Many experts say the recall was long overdue. Our current system simulates democracy in a lab, but in the real world, it doesn't meet basic standards. Dr. Carla Matlack Political Scientist. Without a fi, our political atmosphere will become hopelessly polluted!

Caption: Let's Talk About Checks. The Paycheck Fairness Act would forbid bosses from punishing workers for talking about their salaries. How much do they pay you, Al? Bweep! Bweep! Step away from the cubicle. If women can't discuss wages with their colleagues, how are they supposed to find out they're getting screwed? New Paycheck Spex! See through envelopes. Al Beene. 2141. Two thousand and ... Hire an unequal-fortune teller. I'm getting visions of $11,000/year more, for slightly inferior work. Try reasoning with your boss. Caption: Get Your Words' Worth. John Roberts on campaign finance: The government may no more restrict how many candidates a donor may support than it may tell a newspaper how many candidates it may endorse. Like, duh! So, dollars are equivalent to words, which makes exactly as much sense in reverse. That'll be three pronouns, please. As the owner of a large book collection worth billions of words, would you consider donating some to my campaign? Vote me. Of course, Roberts isn't very good at recognizing absurdity. I'm just saying money talks, so it's not corrupting. What's so hard to understand here?
