Caption: A voice from somewhere deep in the air duct system told me to be still, and to listen for the cries of a child, for it would lead me to a refugee whose story must be told. So I did. I stilled my mind … and it led me to wonder if I'd paid the gas bill, if I was missing an Amazon delivery, and if that cretin Gary226 had admitted defeat yet in our Facebook argument. Dios mio. Then I stilled my mind again ...

Caption: You realize it's the year 5776 on the Jewish calendar? It doesn't feel like it's 5776. In 5775, we should have already cured all sickness, repaired the environment … defeated the robot uprising, colonized every planet in the constellation Cygnus … and given casinos to all the native life we displaced there. C-Dog don't gamble, bruh.

Caption: Doc, I don't think the medicine you gave me is working. My … visions … are returning. I keep imagining Roxanne is an evil vampire who used me to father a child, in order to fulfill an ancient prophecy, become a daywalker, and conquer the world. And I keep imagining some guy named Saxon Kenchu is her half-human, half-vampire son who tried to help me defeat her but ended up suffering a fate worse than death. I warned you the Flintstones antipsychotic chewables might not work. BUT I CAN'T SWALLOW PILLS!

Caption: This just in: Senator Butcherman is missing! Aides say the stunning defeat of his "Throw all Americans into a Volcano Act" hit him hard. Particularly since the volcano industry is his major campaign contributor. "He just wanted to do right by Americans," said a spokesman. "If volcanoes benefited too, where's the harm?"

Caption: In the year 75066… Extinct Species Exhibit. Museum. You said an alpha male called "The Bush" led the Democratus Congressorus to extinction. Records are really incomplete. We think they let the unwise "Bush" grow incredibly powerful. In May 2007, The Bush issued orders giving himself vast powers in the event of something called "National Emergency." What is a "National Emergency"? Pretty sure it had something to do with an odd creature called a "Sanjaya."

Cartoonist(s): Darrin Bell
Comic/Cartoon: Candorville

Image Number: 17456
Caption: In the year 75066… Why'd the Democratus Congressorus go extinct, L-Munt? Tough to say, Cleeb. Most records from that time period were lost during The Great Burn. Extinct Species. Neanderthal. Democratus. Positivus Rapperus. Archaeologists pieced together what little we know from something called "Fox News Tapes." Talking Headus Fox "News". Apparently, the primitive species' supreme leader was a loud biped called "Hannity."

Caption: In the year 75056… Extinct Species Exhibit. Museum. Records from the 21st Century are sketchy at best… ..but some believe Democratus Congressorus was doomed from the start. Apparently it did something called "giving the president a blank check in Iraq just like the last Congress." So that's what doomed that sorry species? Either that or global warming. Not sure which came first.

Caption: In the year 75056… Extinct Species Exhibit. Museum. …and this species was so timid that even when it had the upper hand in a fight, it would tuck its tail and run away. It put on a big show but in the end was totally subservient to the unwise alpha male who led it to its doom. "Democratus Congressorus." Dude, it looks just like the Republicanus Congressorus.
