Caption: Tips for holiday cheer. These days, it can be hard to get into the festive spirit. Climate change a runaway train. Nog? Try to focus on the little things. GOP strips new Dem gov of power in Wisconsin. At least I can still vote for the ugliest Christmas sweater at the office party! Accentuate the positive. And migrant children are being gassed at the border ... Oh, cool. Car antlers! Stay grounded in the present. Hey, look! Santa! Doomsday Clock two minutes to midnight.

Caption: Slowpoke. Some members of the working class just can't bring themselves to sympathize with Wisconsin's public employees. Why should you get to negotiate with your boss? I don’t get to bargain with mine! Welcome to the real world! Save Workers' Rights. It seems they want everyone's job to suck as much as theirs. If my boss catches me taking a bathroom break without clocking out, he dunks my head in the toilet and gives me a swirly. That's just how life is, whiny union babies! Those spoiled union brats, always pushing for things like safety standards! If I had any arms left, I'd punch 'em in the nose! Mightyfast Meatpacking. Meanwhile ... Ah, they've turned against each other now. Excellent. Time to launch the "Unions Hate You" ad campaign. Koch Industries.

Caption: Slowpoke. Nation Stunned by Display of Competence. Our top story tonight: Millions of Americans are in shock that, after a decade of economic, environmental, and military FUBARS, we managed to do something right. OSAMASHOCK! "Emergency medical technicians are working round the clock to revive dazed and confused citizens." Bin Laden ... DEAD?!? We MUST have screwed the pooch somehow! Have a look at this cost-of-war counter. It'll bring you back to reality. "Dr. Alice Fernweaver, professor of western fubology, argues that killing Bin Laden is not necessarily at odds with our normal bumbling idiocy." The 21st century has been a nonstop series of clusterf#cks and epic fails resulting in the destruction of everything we touched. It was only a matter of time before we destroyed Bin Laden too. "Scientists predict that, at this rate, the next act of competence will occur in the year 2022." Our models indicate that that is the year we may finally stop bombing Afghanistan, or start addressing global warming. If we make it that long.

Caption: Slowpoke. The future's so bright I gotta wear shades. In the '50s, people imagined that technology would lead to a three-hour workday. Thanks to the new, super-powerful mainframes, there's more time for calypso music and highballs. The butbot. Instead, it has brought us the round-the-clock workday! Yet while productivity has soared ... ... And the balloon man tasered the evil princess ... Text text text! Where the hell is that data on the Fothergill account? Wages have been stagnant. I need that report asap! Bling! That's funny. I'm making the same amount I did when I had a life. Salt 'n' Noodles. Workers of America, if new technology means doing more for less, then it's time to embrace old technology! Blow up that Blackberry! Boom! Smash that cellphone! Crunch! Roll out that Commodore 64! "Or better yet ... An abacus!" Thompson, your a week behind on those numbers. What in God's name are you doing?! Counting beads, sir. Hey, you get what you pay for!

Caption: Slowpoke. HEY, CLOSETED GAY REPUBLICANS! Here's an idea: instead of taking your pent-up shame out on others, take it out on yourselves at … Gay Republican Guilt Camp. Extra. Anti-Gay Senator caught seeking sex in men's room. At Gay Republican Guilt Camp, you'll be greeted by Tucker Carlson slamming your head against a bathroom stall! Take that, homo! WHAM! OOF! More, please! Welcome Campers! Yes, he bragged about doing this in his youth! "Round-the-clock confession booths will help you get a load off your chest!" Father, I received oral favors behind a tie rack at JC Penney. ... And I boffed a guy while on ecstasy in the parking lot of a Denver IHOP. ... And I fondled my page repeatedly at the Alberto Gonzales hearings. And ... Okay, got it. You're forgiven. Don't miss the grand finale: putting on a cabaret show with your fellow campers! Though many men we've boned, this week we have atoned! No more need to show we're straight by passing backward laws that hate!
