Caption: The New Normal. The country has gone off the deep end, and it's mostly business as usual. Republicans say Obama can't nominate anyone to the Supreme Court. Punditspew. This will be quite a game of hardball! Things keep getting weirder, but we still treat the election as a horse race. And today the GOP frontrunner fired rubber bullets into a crowd of cheering fans! Even the people who were hit LOVED it! That'll play well in Plano! Sometimes it seems like nothing will break the facade. I will abolish the IRS and see revenue solely through plunder! Perkins is controversial, but his message is winning! Perkins 2020. Are there ANY limits to this farce? I will not deploy my army of nanobots into the bloodstreams of the non-white. Hmm ... that's a little extreme. Careful! Let's not violate the new libel laws!

Your child may be asked to sit in the cafeteria with students outside their social group … American Family Association … including homosexuals. "You can't be too careful!" Danny, 14. Once sat with the drama kids. Now costume designer for "Cats." Brandi, 16. Shard fries with a table of goths. Sold off to sex cartel in Kuala Lumpur. Catelyn, 15. Exchanges smiles with the wrong girl in the milk line. Current editor of Godless Quarterly. "Keep your kids safe at home!"

Caption: Slowpoke. Pundit retraining. Some pundits have a blithe attitude toward decimation of many jobs. These workers need retraining to compete in the 21st century! Creative destruction! Woo! We at slowpoke envision an America in which these windbags find themselves having to start over. Hmm ... need another glowing adjective for Steve Jobs ... Pack up! You've been downsized! Alas, a lifetime of carefully-cultivated abilities goes down the toilet. I've got great skills in platitude creation, with an emphasis on repeating myself. Employment agency. I'm sorry, sir. You've become obsolete. The sudden loss of identity proves difficult. Seafood. Let me tell you something a rickshaw driver in Bangalore taught me about the dynamism of the internet. Um, I asked for the tilapia, not the trout.

Caption: Slowpoke. Better Babies Through Chemistry. The President's cancer panel just stated that babies are born "pre-polluted" with more than 300 contaminants in their bodies. We chemical manufacturers like to take a different view. "Just think: with enough PFOAs, you can have a fabulous, easy to clean nonstick baby!" This pea puree comes right off! "These fine, flame-retardant babies provide a protective layer for this fireman." Be careful, Dave! It's ok - I've got BABIES! "And who couldn't use a pesticide-filled infant as toxic bug bait at their next cookout?" With her around, I hardly get bit anymore. Kiss the Cook. Babies: We can make them better than they were.

Caption: Slowpoke. Pop Culture Periscope. The original great depression was a decidedly un-ironic affair. Might I shine your shoes for a crust of bread, sir? Lost everything please help. Now that we live in the age of irony, how could this one be different? I just spent my last $150 buying this boss shirt on eBay! Defunct financial firm swag is the hot new thing! Lehman Brothers. Bear Stearns. Next up on urban streets: Dust Bowl Retro. Now Playing: The Grapes of Snark. I carefully studied Dorothea Lange's "Migrant Mother" Photos for this ensemble! Rad! Soup Kitchen Twittering. Waiting in line for some beige-colored slop! 2:31 PM Mar 27. About to get the beige-colored slop! 2:33 PM Mar 27. Now serving beige slop. 2:33 PM Mar 27.
