Caption: Today Ernie will try to guess these cliches being demonstrated by celebrities. Here's characters from the TV show "The Big Bang Theory." Ouch! That's Sheldon and Penny. The cliche is "Penny Pincher." This photo of the 2008 World Champion Philadelphia Phillies is sliced right up to the second baseman. Chase Utley --- The photo is "cut to the chase." A comedian with a career spanning decades is being covered with gold. Lily Tomlin --- "Gilding the Lily"! And this "Pirates of the Caribbean" star is making a long-delayed appearance here ... I know! I know! Johnny Depp ... "Johnny come Lately"!

Caption: The Expanding Universe. In 1929 astronomer Edwin Hubble studied light waves from distant galaxies and concluded that the universe is continuously expanding in all directions. This work was part of the basis for the "big bang" theory -- the idea that the expansion began from a single point with a huge explosion. Why is it the universe keeps expanding but there's never any room in my closet?
