Caption: I want you to work on something when you get home, minion. I'm supposed to be able to rest once I've gone home. I've always wanted to have a trademark one-liner, like the heroes of all those old action movies. Like in Cobra. Sylvester Stallone was a rogue cop who told a criminal You're the disease, and I'm the cure. Or like in Total Recall, when Arnold Schwarzenegger's wife turned out to be an evil killer. He eliminated her and then said Consider that a divorce. Or like in They live, when just before he killed a bunch of evil aliens, Rowdy Roddy Piper said "I have come here to chew bubblegum, and kick (butt) ... and I'm al out of bubblegum. Your task tonight is to generate six one-liners I can use whenever I squeeze unpaid work out of my employees. I'm supposed to be able to rest once I've gone home. You're the rest, and I'm the bed. The kind with spikes on it ... See? That's awful. Fix that up and give me sixe more.

Caption: Did you see Trump's speech at CPAC last week? Nah, bruh. You catch the Cornel West vs. Diamond and Silk debate on reparations? Where was that? Youtube? Cable news? Twitch? Facebook? Instagram? Periscope? Vimeo? Streamshark? Ustream? Netflix? Broadcast tv. Oh. No, I'm still trying to figure out how to stream that.

Caption: Your trippin' bruh. Ancient Greek philosophers ain't responsible for slavery in America. Academics an' politicians an' slave owners used Aristotle an' Plato's words to justify they own actions. But so what? Bigots don't need justification. That's why they bigots. They'da done all that regardless. Is this about how your album was blamed for all those people who sold fake Botox shots? Sling that Buttox didn't make nobody do nothin' they wasn't already gonna do.

Caption: What's wrong, Lemont? I don't know what's happened to journalism? All the mainstream journalists went after me on Twitter. I wrote and article dissecting the voting records and the past actions of the people who CNN tells us are the Democratic frontrunners for the 2020 presidential nomination. How could you, Lemont! Now's not the time for that sort of thing. They accused me of being divisive ... and Russian.

Caption: After I'd gracefully climbed down from the air duct, I jumped right back into action … I'm a trained investigative journalist. And while I may be mumblety three years old, I've got the stamina of a man twice my age. I summoned all my skills to finally track down one of the refugee children the President had kidnapped from his parents. Mama! Sounds like they trained you very well in journalism school. Not much gets past me. Will humor you for $.

Caption: Ms. Garcia, I just want to thank you for trusting me to handle the Ask Sadie Show account. I've been waiting for a chance to prove myself. When I opened your memo this morning, I got right to work on a ten-step action plan. I wasted no time. I promise I won't let you down. I sent you that memo last year, Courtney. Step one is to tell you I disagree with having Kevin Spacey do the voiceover.

Caption: I've considered what you said, about how every story, change only occurs after an interlude. But those are stories, Rosencrantz, not real life. In real life, the biggest changes often occur randomly and unexpectedly. There usually is no calm before the storm. We often jarringly shift from one storm to the next. And unlike with fictional characters, the actions of real people often don't make sense. I still demand to know why you took my shoe. (Originally published on 2015-12-29).

Caption: 1982. Do you think there's still gonna be mean people in the 21st century, Lemont? Nah. People are getting nicer all the time. Momma and I watched "Roots" back when I was just a little kid. It was about the olden days. A lot of people in those times were clearly very, very mean. But just the other day, I was playing in the park with my Fonzie action figure when some strange man told me "go back where you came from." How was that nice? Well, I went home, and there was a brand new cake there. I don't know how that man knew, but I wish I could thank him.

Caption: Rosencrantz, do you believe every exit is an entrance to somewhere new? I once believed such a thing, until I encountered a revolving doorway and realized it was possible for me to both exit and enter the same place at once. My eyes were suddenly opened to the thought that opposites are the same. Entering, exiting ... action, inaction ... Forgetting your companion's birthday and remembering it ... I'm still hurt, Tyrone.

Caption: Why erebody always say "think of the children"? How'd that get all flipped 'round? When we was kids, no matter what crazy, deranged #@$% we saw, our mommas said "don't mind that, that's grown folk's business." When they all of a sudden decide that grown folks have to all be "Mister Rogers" instead of kids havin' to mind they business? It's apparent you're not a parent. You tell one more "dad joke" an' I won't be held responsible for my actions.

Caption: I went to the Russian winter Olympics. Oh, that's cool. How was it? Well at first I was afraid it was going to be nothing but unfamiliar customs and strange foods … but then I saw their harsh anti-gay laws in action. It was just like being in Arizona, or Utah, or Oklahoma, or Texas, or Louisiana, or Mississippi, or Alabama, or South Carolina. Always nice to find a little bit of home in a foreign land. And their fast food gave me the poops, just like ours.

You make a plan, you spend all day tryin' to make that plan happen. … An' you fail to capitalize on the dozens of random opportunities that come outta no place ereday. Plans is for the lazy. Caption: You're going to vote for Trump? He a man of action, dawg. Yeah. But what kind of action? What that matter? I'm tired of electin' people who can't get spit done. Do you like what he says he can get done? What that have to do with anything? What do you mean? It has everything to do with everything! If someone wants to accomplish awful things, you shouldn't want him to accomplish them. What if he said he was the only candidate on stage who could successfully build a puppy-melting death ray? Well ... probably can't Hillary build no death ray. She ain't never persuaded nobody to do nothin; noway. That's not the point!!!

Caption: Wanna come over and watch C-Span with Lionel and me? No, I … wait. Wait a second … You and your two-year-old son watch C-Span together? You mean PBS, right? "Sesame Street"? No, I mean C-Span. The channel that shows Congress in action. Why? Just … Why? Because he's too young to watch "The Walking Dead." I can't make it. I'll be busy forgetting this conversation.

Caption: This just in: According to scientists, it is not yet 2016. Hold on … Yes, ok … Sources are telling us that if this turns out to be true, it could have profound implications. Theoretically, it would mean that our leaders could spend this year actually accomplishing things. Wait, I'm being told ... Ok, sources claim it would also mean politicians don't have to demonize people on the other side of the aisle yet. Congress is already weighing in on this stunning development. They've issued a joint statement saying "We're not scientists, so we don't know one way or another if this crazy 'theory' is true." We at the nightly news should stress that the theory is so far unconfirmed. And frankly we're not sure we buy it either.

Caption: I've been considering all the things I do absentmindedly. This morning alone, I cut my toenails, picked my nose, spit, whistled and scratched my unmentionables. Just thinking about all the things I do without thinking about it makes me feel exhausted. That doesn't explain why you ate my taco. (This cartoon was published originally on 2012-05-29).

Caption: I liked it. What'd you think, Lemont? I think I'm getting old. X-MEN. I should've loved it. It was well-made. But I just sat there feeling like I've seen this same story a million times. The good guys face impossible odds and somehow triumph. That's it. Everything else is just details. I liked Wolverine. You mean you liked "Frodo-Rocky-Potter-Spider-Super-Skywalker-Doubtfire-verine."

Caption: First the supreme court overturned a crucial part of the Voting Rights Act … … And now it upholds Michigan voters' ban on affirmative action. The court's clearly decided racism's over. So I'm just wondering why'd you beep your car's alarm when you saw me walking by it? Please don't hurt me.
