Caption: Clyde, I did some investigating, and I don't think Doctor Seuss said that quote you attributed to him. A variation of don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened has also been attributed to Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Ludwig Jacobowski … and that brother Big Oatmeal down my the car wash. Don't attribute a quote to someone until you've googled it. Abraham Lincoln said that. You googled all that jus' so you could tell that joke. Admit it.

Image Number: 164649
Caption: The president's chief of staff, General John Kelly, was right: the Civil War happened 'cause the country did not compromise. Say what? Maybe they should've tried … oh, I don't know … splitting the difference and saying black people were worth 3/5ths of a person. Or maybe they should've admitted a slave state for every new free state admitted or maybe Lincoln should've just offered to limit slavery's expansion instead of ending it. Or maybe they should've passed some sort of "Fugitive Slave Act." I hate "Sarcasm Monday"! I'm glad the White House is filled with people who really know your history.

Caption: I had a dream last night, Clyde. Want to hear about it? Not sure. Last time you told me 'bout one of your dreams, it was some sci-fi nonsense 'bout you travelin' back in time to save Abraham Lincoln. This one wasn't about time travel, it was about how Trump keeps firing everyone who says they have info on his Russia scandal. Well ... ok. Go. Caption: President Trump raised a good point: "Why was there a civil war anyway?" Slavery. Yes, but why couldn't Lincoln have just sat down with the slave states and made a bigly tremendous deal? Problem solved. What are you babbling about? What sort of "deal" would the south have accepted other than "you get to keep enslaving people"? What if Lincoln had told them they could keep their slavery as long as it was voluntary? The loser never even tried that. You are deliberately pushing my buttons!

Caption: I've been thinking about how Donald Trump said he might not accept the results of the election if he loses. Everyone says we've got a tradition of the loser accepting the results of our elections. So what I'm asking you is, is that true? I ask 'cause you're the only one I know who's personally witnessed all 57 of America's presidential elections. Could you repeat all that? I was distracted by the part where you said you've been "thinking." I don't have a good comeback for that. How about Lincoln, did he have good comebacks?
