Caption: Mom, did you check the expiration date on that maple syrup? No, why? It says "Best if used by 2012." Oh, big deal. It's still good. That just means it's past it's prime but not ready to be tossed out. Just like your father.

Caption: Happy New Year, Earl! Thank you. Happy New Year to you, too. Who'd have thought we'd make it to 2021? It's 2012, dear. Whatever. Who's counting? I donít know why, but I have a feeling that suddenly all is right with the world. Itís as if now, in spite of all the turmoil and instability that's going on, I can relax and know that everything is going to be okay. Maybe it's because I just placed an order for a dozen pork tamales from Tamale Time. Yes, that would explain it.

Caption: Let's not bother gramma right now, Nelson. She's busy worrying. How come? Well, she is convinced that the things she worries about the most never happen. So she feels it's up to her to keep worrying about them to make sure they never do happen. It's a lot of responsibility. Who knows what kind of chaos would break loose if she were to stop worrying? Back in 2000 she worried the Y2K bug into oblivion. Now she's working on preventing the end of the world in 2012. Good job, gramma!
