Caption: Hey there! Fruity Q's. You're a … a very crusty-looking cream-filled Ding-a-Ling snack cake. Crusty?! I beg your pardon! Your expiration date says April 30, 1972. You're 45 years old. 45 years young, thanks to the miracle of modern preservatives. I have cheated death! Stared down the Grim Reaper! Taken a pass at the Pearly Gates! Seen the - Okay. I get it. Nothing can stop me! I'm invincible! Fruity Q's. I just found the oddest-tasting snack cake.

The hope is that these sounds and images, selected by a committee chaired by Carl Sagan, will be found by an intelligent spacefaring civilization at some point in the distant future. A special needle and instructions are included ... which will enable the recipient to access information about our species and planet ... Wobble wobble ... or not. Tap tap tap.

Caption: So you see, Dr. Sagan, since my time machine got smashed into bitty pieces, I'm stuck here in 1972. Fascinating!! It looks as though your only chance to get back to your own time is to create a paradox. Something you do in this time has to make a change in your own time that keeps you from coming to this time. That makes my head hurt. You TOO?! I thought I was the only one.

I'm sure it's safe … somewhere … maybe. Lookie here! An ol' hay bailer. Should fetch at least five dollars down at the scrap yard.

Technology that, even in 1975, would've cost hundreds of millions of dollars to develop and implant. Maybe the six million dollars was his deductible.
