As for the searches.... Each Cartoonist Group search functions in roughly the same way. On the initial search page, you see a number of variables that you may specify for a search. To initiate your search, click on any "submit" button on the page. Search results are returned 20 to a page and include a thumbnail of the image and key data about each image. On each "results" page, you may click to refine your search variables, click to see a larger view of any thumbnail or proceed to subsequent pages of results (if any) from the search. If you click on the thumbnail, you'll go to a page that displays the larger view of the image and includes a link to see merchandise available for that image. At any time, you may begin a new search by returning to the homepage. As for types of searches....you want options?! We've got 'em! You may search by focussing on variables related to the artist and property names. Are you interested primarily in one type of image - comic strips, editorial cartoons, illustrations, vintage art, comic book images? Search here! Are you searching for images about a specific subject? You've got three choices: keyword, subject group and alphabetical subject. The "Subject" and "Alphabetical Subject" searches make images accessible in thematic and alphabetic decision tree-type formats. The keyword search may return more images for certain subjects because many images address multiple subjects. For example, an image may be primarily about education but it can also address parents, books, math and more. Are you interested in finding merchandise?
